PROJECT OVERVIEW

UPDATE & REDESIGN

The Art of Reading a Room: A scenario-based eLearning course for group fitness instructors.

Role: Instructional Designer, content developer, visual designer

Tools: Rise 360, Canva, Photoshop, Envato, AI

Timeline: Summer 2026

Audience: Group fitness instructors

THE CHALLENGE

Fitness instructors need to make quick decisions based on what they observe before and during class. Participant body language, behavior and engagement can provide important cues, but instructors may not always know what to look for or how to respond.

The goal was to turn these subtle interpersonal skills into a clear, practical learning experience instructors could apply in real class settings.

THE SOLUTION

I designed a scenario-based Rise 360 course that guides learners through realistic fitness-class situations and asks them to observe participant cues, consider possible responses and make coaching decisions.

The course combines visual storytelling, interactive learning and practical examples to connect observation with action.

THE RESULT

The final course provides instructors with a structured way to practice reading a room and responding to participant needs.

The project demonstrates my ability to translate a soft skill into an engaging digital learning experience using scenarios, visual design and learner-centered interactions.
